Assistant Director
Tyrel Pace is the Assistant Director of the Arkansas Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (Division). Mr. Pace has 17 years of experience working in the Arkansas public schools.

Mr. Pace moved upwardly through the Division to become the Assistant Director. Originally hired as an Area Project Manager–Maintenance in May 2019, he advanced to the Senior Project Administrator–Planning and Construction, and now serves as the Assistant Director. This progression provided extensive hands-on experience and expertise in the Division’s Maintenance and in the Planning and Construction sections.

Serving on both the school district and Division levels, Mr. Pace’s experience provides a unique understanding of the responsibilities from both arenas.
Mr. Pace worked in the Southside School District–Batesville and the Bald Knob School District as a teacher/coach, principal/athletic director, and Director of Support Services over facilities and transportation. In this last district-level capacity, highlights of his experience included:

  • Maintained up-to-date state inspections of facilities and transportation
  • Developed bid documents for campus projects
  • Maintained communication with construction manager and architects throughout the duration of building and renovation projects
  • Worked with Division staff regarding site visits on construction projects final payment approvals
  • Helped develop the district Master Plans with the facility consultant, superintendent, and Division staff
  • Attended Master Plan consultation meetings with the facility consultant and Division personnel
  • District liaison with facility consultant and Division staff on project applications
  • Prepared maintenance reports for monthly school board meetings
  • Responsible for monitoring road conditions for weather related school closings to ensure safety of the district students and staff

Tyrel Pace grew up in Bald Knob and attended Harding University in Searcy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.
