The presentation is geared towards novice building leaders and veteran administrators who need a roadmap to cultivate a positive culture. It will include the journey of an intermediate school over a year-long period with new administrators and a veteran staff. The content will center around the creation of systems and processes to build a solid foundation to enhance staff performance and student achievement. A discussion of academic and behavioral tiered interventions that are deeply embedded in the shifting of the culture to focus on making changes based on data and feedback from all stakeholders. A positive culture for students and staff includes celebrations, recognition, reflection, honest and open communication, and transparency in shared decision-making. In addition, examples of building staff confidence and capacity as well as leader progress monitoring will be offered to help new administrators start their journey.
